This event requires pre-registration, please call the Maine Sport Outfitters Outdoor Programs Department at 207.236.8797 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to save your spot.
There is a no cost to register for this course and this is an event where participants will have the opportunity to discuss their early season layering system, check out specialty Kokotat paddling gear, and test a Kokotat drysuit. This workshop will discuss the dangers of cold water paddling, review cold water physiology, recognizing hypothermia, and will highlight the appropriate dress for cold conditions. Special pricing on Kokatat equipment will be given to those who attend the event.
Bring your bag of paddling clothes and as a group we will discuss the key pieces for safe and enjoyable early season paddling, while highlighting some potential supplements to your current paddle wear. If you plan to demo a drysuit, please bring a form fitting fleece for use underneath, wool/fleece socks, a towel, and shoes that can be worn over the bulky dry suit socks. If you own gloves and hats for paddling, please bring those with you as well.
