Women’s Only Katahdin Trip

IMG_2035_ResizedClimb Katahdin, the tallest peak in Maine, on this 3-day/2-night Women’s Only trip in Baxter State Park. Rewarding hiking, spectacular views, and the comfort of a bunkhouse at night make this a trip to delight every lover of outdoor adventure.

We’ll start with a moderate hike up to the Chimney Pond Campground, where we’ll stay in a bunkhouse both nights. Surrounded by awe-inspiring, 2,000-foot granite cliffs, glacially-formed Chimney Pond is the most spectacular campground in Baxter State Park, and perhaps anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains.

On day two (weather permitting), we’ll day-hike to the summit of Katahdin (5,267 feet) via Cathedral Trail and Saddle Trail, then we’ll conquer Pamola Peak (4,902 feet) via the Knife Edge — the most spectacular mountain trail in the East and one of Maine’s most picturesque spots. This hike is strenuous, and participants should be in good physical condition.

IMG_20160823_135319481_ResizedThe trip starts and ends at Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport. We provide transportation to and from Baxter State Park, as well as meals within the park. Baxter State Park fees and bunkhouse fees are included in the trip price. Two Registered Maine Guides will accompany the group. A list of recommended personal gear will be provided upon registration.

Group size is limited to 8. These are the toughest reservations to get in Baxter State Park, so reserve your spot soon!
