Moose River Bow Trip

Do you want to see moose? Really see moose? How about a paddling trip that begins and ends in the same place without ever retracing your steps? Let Maine Sport Outfitters share a unique and unforgettable paddling experience on the Moose River in northern Maine.

The Moose River Bow Trip (the trip gets its name from the shape of the paddling, bow shaped; and the shuttle, the straight string forming a bow) is a great beginner, multi day paddling trip, comprising flat water, modest rapids, a few portages and several lakes and ponds. Paddlers will enjoy three nights under the stars in tent sites along the route in one of the most beautiful stretches of the Maine North Woods.

What to know:
Paddling experience is not necessary but it is helpful. Maine Sport will provide round trip transportation from our flagship store in Rockport, all canoes, paddles, PFDs, dry bags and meals. Paddlers are responsible for personal gear and clothing.

The general route:

Paddle west from Attean Landing across Attean Pond to the portage to Holeb Pond. Paddle to the southwest outlet of Holeb Pond into Holeb Stream, which soon joins the Moose River. There is another portage around Holeb Falls. Paddle to Spencer Rips and Attean Falls, both of which can be paddled at higher water levels. The Moose River flows into Attean Pond; paddle north to return to Attean Landing.

Dates: June 30th - July 2nd

Price: $600 Per Person
